NCRMA Statement on Executive Order 215 and the Loosening of COVID Restrictions
It has been a tough year, but there is hope on the horizon and North Carolina retailers are ready to welcome you back. North Carolina took a huge step forward today in its recovery from COVID-19. Governor Roy Cooper removed the mask mandate along with occupancy limits and social distancing requirements. This is great news for North Carolina’s retailers as they continue to recover from the economic hardships caused by the pandemic.
Retailers will make their own decisions about how to maintain the safety of their customers and employees, so please continue to be kind to the retail employees who have been on the front lines for the last fourteen months.
As Governor Cooper said, “If I went to a grocery store that was not requiring masks, I would not wear my mask in the grocery store and would feel comfortable going more places without my mask. I think it’s a good thing. I want to abide by whatever a retail establishment would do and also want to abide by mandatory mask rules in those certain settings.”
There is no better time to Shop NC and retailers are more than ready to welcome you back to their stores as we celebrate this major milestone together.
