NCRMA Responds to New Retail Policies
RALEIGH, NC – The North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA) issued the following statement from Andy Ellen, president and general counsel, regarding the issuance of Executive Order 131 by Governor Roy Cooper.
“The main concern for all retailers continues to be the health and safety of their employees and their customers.
As the statewide association for retail, we believe the measures contained in Executive Order 131 are well thought out as they address the concerns of maximum occupancy for retail locations, social distancing and sanitation, while also encouraging best practices such as plexiglass dividers and the use of hand sanitizer when available and when practical. We appreciate the thoughtful dialogue and deliberation on how this order will apply to both large and small retail businesses throughout North Carolina.
Hopefully, Executive Order 131 will ensure uniformity by providing one set of consistent rules throughout North Carolina allowing retailers to focus their efforts fully on taking care of their customers and employees while providing the supplies and goods North Carolinians need, safely and efficiently.”
